Privacy Policy

Effective Date: April 8, 2026

Welcome to Browserfax ("we," "our," or "us"). Your privacy is important to us, and we are committed to protecting the personal information you share with us. This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, and safeguard your information when you use our Chrome extension and website ("Service").

Information We Collect

We collect strictly limited information to provide and improve our Service:

  • Account Information: We use Google Sign-In for authentication. When you sign in, we collect your email address and basic profile information provided by Google.
  • Usage Data: We may collect non-personal, highly-anonymized information about how you interact with our extension (e.g., features used, metrics) via Google Analytics to improve the user experience.
  • Document & Browsing Data: The extension operates locally to securely process and render your PDFs for faxing. We do not access, store, or transmit your broader browsing history. Any document you authorize for faxing is transmitted strictly via secure, HIPAA-compliant encryption pipelines and is not retained longer than strictly necessary for transmission.

How We Use Your Information

We use the information we collect for the following purposes:

  • To Provide the Service: To authenticate you, process your payments, and dispatch your faxes successfully.
  • Communication: By signing in with Google, you consent to receive critical emails related to account security, service updates, and fax delivery notifications.
  • Service Improvement: To analyze usage patterns and ensure a high-quality product.

Data Sharing and Third Parties

We absolutely do not sell, rent, or trade your personal information. We only participate with crucial third-party service providers necessary to operate the application:

  • Google Firebase: Utilized for highly secure authentication and infrastructure hosting.
  • Stripe: Utilized for secure, PCI-compliant payment processing. We do not store your credit card details.

Data Security & HIPAA Compliance

We implement industry-standard security measures to protect your data. Authentication is handled securely via Google, and data transmission to our fax endpoints is fully encrypted by standard network mechanisms (TLS/SSL). We prioritize strict operational security to ensure your sensitive faxes remain confidential.

Your Rights

You have the right to access the personal information we hold about you, request deletion of your account and associated data, and opt-out of any non-essential marketing emails.

Changes to This Privacy Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. Any changes will be posted on this page with an updated "Effective Date."
